Fiber art is for all! Textile Center is committed to creating a welcoming space for everyone in our community, where everyone is accepted, valued, and respected, while fostering a strong sense of belonging for all individuals.

Our center is unique in the Twin Cities as a third space to gather — a place of boundless creativity, a place to connect, find community with other artists and art appreciators, and a place to express ourselves through fiber art.

Our classrooms and staff offices are private spaces. Our center is free and open to the public – with spaces for gathering, learning, and making. For the time being, we have returned to a buzz-in system for our building entrances as we strive to keep our space safe and supportive of all who come to experience fiber art with us.

Textile Center’s Shop and The Stashery will be closed on Friday, January 30, out of care for our team and in support of our community.

Our building will be open for coffee and community from 10 am – 1 pm. Art making is a powerful tool for calming our nervous systems and connecting with one another. We invite you to use our classroom space and library for open making time, if gathering in a quiet, creative environment feels helpful for you that day.

We’ll have some supplies from The Stashery set out as well. Find inspiration in our materials if you don’t have the brain space to bring your own. Find comfort in the scrappy nature of fabric collage, and the repetitive rhythms of needle felting and weaving.

As a reminder, Textile Center is located just off the Prospect Park Green Line stop.

Allow art to soothe our souls, bring communion with ourselves and our communities, introduce beauty in the face of horror, and create hope that washes away despair. – Catherine Sipher

A national center for fiber art, Textile Center’s mission is to honor textile traditions, promote excellence and innovation, nurture appreciation, and inspire widespread participation in fiber art.
